Learn moreViera is a master-planned community built on former Cocoa Ranch land, started with Viera East in 1990 and expanded with Central Viera in 1995. Every lake in it is man-made and works as part of a permitted stormwater system.
Viera's ponds connect to each other and to canals, including the 2-, 4-, 6- and 8-Mile canals, that carry water toward the St. Johns River. The Central Viera Community Association says common areas are built for a 25-year storm (about 9 inches in 24 hours) and homesites for a 100-year storm (about 11 inches). Each home also has a 5-foot drainage easement along the side lot lines. Keep downspout extensions, plantings and pavers out of that easement, and keep any rear yard drain clear. See the CVCA stormwater article.
The Central Viera Community Association's architectural review committee handles requests for most of Viera. Some neighborhoods, especially ones built by outside builders, have their own committee, and your neighborhood HOA or community manager is the right first call. Viera also has special districts (the Viera Stewardship District and the Viera East and Heritage Isle CDDs) that handle stormwater and infrastructure. Get approval for gutter color and style before you order.
Viera homes date from the 1990s on, so the usual jobs are replacing sectional or undersized builder gutters with seamless ones, fixing downspouts that drain too close to the foundation, and checking fascia where old gutters have held water. Many Viera homes also have pool cages, so we plan downspouts and screen work together.
Besides Viera, we work throughout Brevard County, including Suntree, West Melbourne, Melbourne. See all service areas.
