Learn moreMaitland was settled by Union veterans in 1870 and incorporated in 1885. It has 21 lakes, with 451-acre Lake Maitland the largest, and a historic corridor around Lake Lily and Lake Catherine where older homes still stand.
The 1884 William H. Waterhouse House, a two-and-a-half-story frame house with shiplap siding and heart pine, is a good picture of what older Maitland homes are made of. Old wood eaves and fascia need to be solid before new gutters are hung, and we check them first.
Lake Maitland is the lowermost lake of the Winter Park chain, the last lake in the chain. Maitland is among the agencies listed on the 2014 map revisions for the chain, so a lakeside home may have updated flood mapping. Check your parcel on FEMA's map site.
A 100-year storm is one with a 1 percent chance of happening in any year, and it can drop well over 10 inches of rain in a day. Ian put down about 14 inches in Orlando. Gutters sized for ordinary rain can be overwhelmed in a big storm, so we size gutters and downspouts to your roof, not to an average day.
Besides Maitland, we work throughout Orange County, including Winter Park, Orlando, Apopka. See all service areas.
