Learn moreNarcoossee sits on the east shore of East Lake Tohopekaliga along Narcoossee Road. It began as an English settlement in 1883 and is now a mix of rural parcels and newer subdivisions.
After Hurricane Ian in 2022, East Lake Toho rose for days and county officials asked thousands of people near the lake to evacuate. They also flagged areas near Lake Ajay for flooding. Gutters cannot stop a lake from rising. They do keep roof water off the walls, and after a storm that matters more, because saturated ground has nowhere to take the water.
Narcoossee has newer gated communities, such as Lakeshore at Narcoossee, built mostly from 2015 to 2020, and East Lake Cove, built mostly in the 2000s, next to older homes on larger lots. A newer home usually needs the right size and downspout placement. An older one often needs the fascia checked first.
Narcoossee is unincorporated, so Osceola County standards apply. For new construction the county wants the ground to fall at least 6 inches in the first 10 feet from the foundation, so a downspout that empties on level or sloping-in ground is working against the lot. Gated communities may add their own exterior rules, so check yours before you choose a color.
Besides Narcoossee, we work throughout Osceola County, including St. Cloud, Harmony, Kissimmee. See all service areas.
